The web has gone Girl Talk crazy. No, not for that strange weekly magazine once so loved by young teens in the UK, but for mash-up artist extraordinaire Gregg Gillis.
He’s released a new album All Day on Illegal Art, and since it’s his first new material for two years, people are suitably excited. Now, Gillis himself has listed every sample used here. But just how fun is reading through a big long list of titles?
Software developer Travis McLeskey has built All Day Samples to help you visualise which samples are being used at at one time while also streaming the entire album. Each time a new track is used, a corresponding box reveals the source based on data from Wikipedia.  He also did the same with Girl Talk’s last album, Feed the Animals.

There are few songs that bring me to tears. Hey Jude is one, Alice Russell’s acoustic version of Mirror Mirror on the Wolf that she sang at Union Chapel earlier this year is another.
I went to one of those gigs, who knows if the one she’s just released on a subsite of AliceRussell.com was recorded the night I was there. I don’t care. I’m thrilled she’s made it available.
Click here to listen, and sign up to download for free. I’m going to try and see her on December 9th at HMV Forum, I suggest you do too.

I meant to blog about this the other day, but got caught up in Diplo’s new Feist remix and forgot. Now it’s been discovered via Twitter and my hand has been forced 🙂
As part of of new media age and Reputation Online‘s ongoing support of The Hospital Club (the private member’s club in Covent Garden designed specifically for creative industries), nma editor Justin Pearse and I have been placed into the ‘zeitgeist’ of Twitter streams on its website.
As you’d imagine, you can find us under the ‘Zeitgeist’ section on THC’s socialsite, which is introduced as, “a menu of trend shifters and creative luminaries, an instant window into the “spirit” of our times.” Isn’t that nice?
This can then be filtered to view each of our tweets individually (the group also includes Martha Lane Fox, The FT’s Tim Bradshaw and W+K’s Iain Tait), or you can view a list of interesting blogs such as Made By Many or music marketing geniuses FRUKT.

I’ve admired Pink for a long time. I’m not a fan of her music, but you have to respect the fact that she writes a great pop song.
More impressive though is the quality of her voice, and the strength that becomes clear when you see her live. I’ve seen several videos of her at various awards shows doing an amazing job, and displaying a sense of control that few can match.
This clip of her doing ‘Glitter in the Air’ at the Grammy’s however, takes the cake. On the plane back from New York yesterday I remembered it, and it’s still one of most beautiful performances I’ve ever seen.
